About

Mat Beale

Commercial roles in enterprise B2B technology, now completing an MSc in Biotechnology to move into life sciences and health tech.

I started in enterprise B2B software as a developer, moved into presales, co-founded a company alongside that, then account management, and now an MSc in Biotechnology.

Four years in commission-based presales: over 100 demonstrations, more than 20 proof of concept evaluations, deals from £30k to £300k against a £3m pipeline. I still write code, so I can read an architecture or a customer environment first hand.

The MSc is at Reading, predicted distinction. My research project tests whether a diabetic foot ulcer image classifier still works when the photographs come from a different source, with clinical advisory input from Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Available from September 2026 for full-time roles and selected freelance projects: solutions consulting, account management, business development or presales. Reading based, open to London or remote.

Beyond the CV

Training and sport

Strength training, kickboxing and wakeboarding, plus the nutrition and recovery science around them. FitTools grew out of that.

Health data and longevity

Wearables, biomarkers and personal health data. The same interest that pulled me towards health technology professionally.
